The area known as Ingonish is actually a cluster of five small communities on the Cabot Trail, nestled between the National Park, Highlands and Atlantic Ocean.

Ingonish is made up of several small villages, including Ingonish Beach, Ingonish Centre, and Ingonish Ferry. The area is best known for its connection to Cape Breton Highlands National Park, where visitors can enjoy hiking trails, wildlife viewing, and stunning coastal views. One of the most popular hikes is the Franey Trail, which offers panoramic views of the sea and mountains.

There are lot of recreation activities available in Ingonish. Enjoy the picnic sites, beaches and hiking trails. The area offers both saltwater and freshwater fishing. There are many lakes, ponds and rivers which provide excellent salmon and trout fishing from June 1st thru early October. The sandy Ingonish Beach is perfect for families and sun lovers. In the winter, the nearby Ski Cape Smokey resort offers skiing, snowboarding, and a scenic gondola ride.
