Ontario's mineral emblem, amethyst, is found in abundance at Amethyst Mine Panorama. Visitors can pick their own amethyst You can dig for you own amethysts at the extensive open pit site.: the company provides the pails, digging tools, and running water. Collect beautiful pieces of amethyst from our spacious rock hounding area.
Amethyst is the official gemstone of the province of Ontario. Guided walking tours take place on an as-needed basis. The guided tour time and length varies depending on the interest of the visitors. Large amounts of amethyst are mined each year to replenish the digging area, provide landscape and garden stone and to supply the Amethyst Gift Centre, located in Thunder Bay.

- $10 per person (plus 13% tax)
