The Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre is one of Golden’s premier outdoor recreation destinations, offering beautifully maintained cross-country ski and snowshoe trails in a peaceful mountain setting. Located next to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, this community-run centre provides an exceptional winter experience for both beginners and seasoned Nordic skiers.
The trail network spans more than 30 kilometres of groomed classic and skate-skiing routes, winding through quiet forests, open meadows, and gentle rolling terrain. Trails are clearly marked, well-maintained, and designed to suit all skill levels—from family-friendly loops to more challenging routes for experienced skiers. During the winter season, the centre also offers snowshoe trails, giving visitors another way to explore the serene, snow-covered landscape.
Dawn Mountain is known for its warm, welcoming atmosphere. The onsite day lodge features heated indoor space, equipment rentals, washrooms, and a comfortable place to relax before or after hitting the trails. Local volunteers and staff are always available to help guests, making it an ideal destination for those new to Nordic skiing.
