St. John's Anglican Church

St. John’s, Lunenburg Parish is a community of caring people who gather to worship and praise God in Common Prayer. The parish provides a number of Christian education activities for children and adults.

The year 2015 marked the 10th Anniversary of the reopening and rededication of St. John’s Church. The event took place on June 12, 2005.

Hours of opening are from 10am – 6pm.

St. John’s offers an extensive tour program for visitors. As the second oldest church of English origin in Canada, as well as a Canadian National Historic Site, St. John’s is recognized as one of North America’s best examples of Carpenter Gothic architecture.

Daily tours start in June and run through until the beginning of September. During this time, the church will be open from 11 am until 7 pm. During the months of May, September and up until Thanksgiving, the church is open on holidays and weekends from 12 noon to 4 pm. St. John’s welcomes groups to visit.
