Whitecourt is a town in central Alberta, Canada within Woodlands County. It is located approximately 177 km northwest of Edmonton.
Whitecourt is located at the confluence of four waterways – the Athabasca River, McLeod River, Sakwatamau River and Beaver Creek.
Whitecourt offers access to several hundred kilometres of exciting winter trails. The Town is known as the Snowmobile Capital of Alberta and its motto is "Let's Go".
Whitecourt is primarily an industrial town, offering rich agricultural, oil and forestry reserves. Whitecourt's economy is largely driven by three major industries – forestry, oil and gas industry and tourism.
Visitors to this town can take in a number of events such as rodeos and riverboat races in the summer.
