Brooks


Brooks is a small city in southeastern Alberta, Canada. It is located about 186 kilometres southeast of Calgary, along the Trans-Canada Highway. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and diverse community, Brooks has grown from a quiet agricultural town to a lively city with people from over 100 different countries.

The area around Brooks is known for its rich farmland and irrigation projects. The Eastern Irrigation District (EID) has helped develop agriculture in the region. Farming, cattle ranching, and food processing are important industries here. One of the largest beef processing plants in Canada, owned by JBS Foods, is located in Brooks and provides many jobs.

Brooks is also rich in natural beauty and outdoor activities. Close to the city is Dinosaur Provincial Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its dinosaur fossils and unique badlands landscape. Visitors come from around the world to explore this park. The nearby Lake Newell is one of the largest man-made lakes in Alberta, offering opportunities for boating, fishing, and picnicking.

The city has good schools, healthcare services, and recreational facilities. It also hosts various cultural festivals, reflecting its multicultural population. Despite its small size, Brooks offers a mix of rural charm and modern amenities.
