Blacksmith Shop Museum

The Blacksmith Shop Museum is the oldest operational Blacksmith Shop in Alberta today. It is a museum dedicated to blacksmithing in Lacombe, Alberta, Canada. It is still located on the original site. Much of the original machinery in the blacksmith shop is in operating condition.
Come see how iron is bent and formed into shapes through intense heat and loud triphammers and learn about the history and politics of blacksmithing in Lacombe.
In 1991, Lacombe and District Historical Society purchased by the blacksmith shop and restored as a museum. The Lacombe Blacksmtih Shop was designated as a Provincial Historic Resource by the Government of Alberta in 2011.
Admission is free, donations are gratefully accepted.
Open Hours: 11am to 3pm Sundays in July and August.
For private tours and demonstrations please call the historical society at the Flatiron Museum or the Michener House to arrange a tour at least one week in advance.
