Uisge Bàn Falls Provincial Park is a beautiful natural park located near Baddeck in Nova Scotia, Canada. The name “Uisge Bàn” (pronounced "Ish-ka Ban") means “white water” in Scottish Gaelic. This name perfectly describes the park’s main attraction — a stunning 16-meter (52 feet) waterfall that flows over rocky cliffs into a peaceful stream.
The park is part of the Cape Breton Highlands and offers a lovely mix of forests, streams, and hills. It is a perfect spot for nature lovers, hikers, and families looking to enjoy a quiet and relaxing outdoor experience.
The main walking trail is about 3 kilometers (round trip) and is easy to moderate in difficulty. It takes you through a beautiful hardwood forest filled with maple, birch, and beech trees. As you walk along the well-maintained path, you will hear birds singing and the sound of flowing water. There are also wooden bridges and a boardwalk to help you cross wet areas.
At the end of the trail, you reach the impressive Uisge Bàn Falls. The sight of the water rushing down the steep rock face is peaceful and refreshing. It's a great place to take photos or sit and enjoy the natural beauty.
The park is open from spring to fall and is free to enter. There are picnic tables and washrooms near the parking area. Dogs are allowed but must be on a leash.
