INNISKILLIN WINES

1499 Line 3, Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON L0S 1J0, Canada

Inniskillin is a well-known and highly regarded winery located in the Niagara Peninsula, specifically in the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada. Established in 1975 by Karl Kaiser and Donald Ziraldo, Inniskillin played a crucial role in developing and popularizing the Canadian wine industry.

Inniskillin gained international recognition for its expertise in producing Icewine, a sweet dessert wine made from grapes that have naturally frozen on the vine. In 1984, Inniskillin's Vidal Icewine won the Grand Prix d'Honneur at Vinexpo, a prestigious wine competition in Bordeaux, France. This achievement helped put Canadian Icewine on the world map.

Inniskillin owns and operates several vineyards in the Niagara Peninsula, including the original Brae Burn Estate vineyard. The winery benefits from the region's unique climate and soil conditions, which are conducive to growing a variety of grape varieties.

Inniskillin produces a diverse range of wines, including red, white, and sparkling wines. However, it is particularly renowned for its Icewine. Some of the grape varieties used in their wines include Riesling, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Pinot Noir.
