Karlo Estates Winery is a small, family-owned winery located in Wellington, Ontario, in the heart of Prince Edward County. The winery is known for its unique and high-quality wines, as well as its commitment to sustainable and organic farming practices.

The winery was founded in 2005 by Richard Karlo and his wife, Sherry Martin. Richard, who was a successful filmmaker and producer before becoming a winemaker, was inspired by the beauty and natural resources of Prince Edward County and decided to pursue his passion for winemaking. Today, Karlo Estates Winery is one of the top wineries in the region and has won numerous awards and accolades for its wines.

The winery is situated on a 93-acre property that includes vineyards, forests, and wetlands. The vineyards are planted with a variety of grapes, including Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Pinot Noir, among others. The grapes are carefully tended and harvested by hand, with a focus on sustainable and organic farming practices that minimize the use of chemicals and protect the natural environment.

One of the unique features of Karlo Estates Winery is its commitment to using only natural yeasts in the fermentation process. The winery offers a range of wines, including white, red, and rosé varietals, as well as a number of speciality wines such as port-style wines and ice wines. Visitors to the winery can sample the wines in the tasting room, which is housed in a renovated 19th-century barn and features a rustic and welcoming atmosphere.
