The Art Gallery of Alberta, situated in Edmonton is a museum dedicated to excellent and innovative practice in programming, stewardship, and presentation of visual arts in Western Canada and across the nation. The gallery features historical and contemporary paintings, sculptures, installation works and photographs by Canadian and international artists.
The Art Gallery of Alberta maintains a collection of over 6,000 objects and is the oldest cultural institution in Alberta and the only museum in the province solely dedicated to the exhibition and preservation of art and visual culture.
The Art Gallery of Alberta founded in 1924, also offers a full-range of art education and public programs.
Teacher & School Programs Teacher & School Programs make connections between students, the community and art in all of its forms in a variety of interesting and meaningful ways. Programs focus on visual literacy, experimentation, collaboration, problem solving, innovation and interaction.
